Myofascial Release

Myofascial Release is a comprehensive, therapeutic method of manual treatment. Fascia is a fine tissue that surrounds all structures in the body including muscles, nerves, vessels, and bones. MFR allows the therapist to evaluate, identify, and treat fascial restrictions. These restrictions can be caused by numerous factors, such as trauma, musculoskeletal conditions, repetitive stress syndrome, and poor posture. By applying low load, prolonged stretches to the myofascial complex, MFR provides a thorough method for assessing and treating the myofascial system, with the goals of reducing pain, restoring optimal length, and enhancing function. Additionally, it aids in the release of limitations that might limit movement in many body areas and create discomfort, such as trigger points, muscle tightness, and soft tissue dysfunctions. By targeting fascial constraints, it seeks to increase range of motion, increase flexibility, and lessen pain.

Conditions treated are:
  • Chronic neck and back pain
  • Carpal Tunnel Syndrome
  • Migraine
  • Plantar Fasciitis
  • Fibromyalgia
  • Shoulder and Hip Restrictions
  • Temporomandibular Dysfunction
  • Thoracic Outlet Syndrome
